Frequently Asked Questions

(1) How do I cut and paste text into a brief that I am writing?

COPY AND PASTE USING THE MOUSE

Put the mouse at the beginning of what you want to copy and click the left mouse button, holding it down while you drag over the section. Drag across or down. At the end of what you want copied, let go of the mouse button. What you want to copy should be highlighted! (If you make a mistake, click the left mouse button once to unhighlight, then start over). Move the mouse over the highlighted area and click the right mouse and a popup menu will appear. Click the left mouse button on the word Copy in the popup menu. This copies the highlighted part to an invisible clipboard. Now go to where you want to paste it. Put the cursor on that spot by clicking the left mouse button once then click the right mouse and a popup menu will appear. Click the left mouse button on the word Paste in the popup menu to paste what you copied.

(2) What is the most effective way to use the search tool to find information on a specific topic?

Look for the search box under the Table of Contents in the lower left hand corner of the MPG screen. Type the phrase that you want to search inside the search box and then click once on the “search” button directly below the search box. The search results will appear on the right. If you type more than one word in the search box it will search for the entire phrase. For more information, please see our Search Help page.

(3) What browsers are supported by the Massachusetts Prosecutor's Guide Online?

Internet Explorer 6.0 and later as well as Firefox and most of its derivatives should work well with the Guide Online. The current version of Safari (3.1.2) also appears to work well, but we have had reports of problems with earlier versions.
